1.) Introduce concepts of inverse and composite functions via Fahrenheit & Celsius conversion.
2.) Students work through handout.
3.) Give students the formula for Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion. Have them solve for Fahrenheit. Hence, they’ve found the inverse function. We will graph these and look at the table of values and how the coordinates are reversed; as well as the graphs being reflections about the line y = x. Finally, students find F[C(x)] and C[F(x)] and how they both come out as the identity, x. Summarize findings at end of period.
