Thu 11/14
1.) Provided solutions to last night’s assignment and tacked on three more quadratic formula example. Collected.
2.) Assignment: Students use quadratic formula and TI-84 to solve application problems. We will discuss and debrief tomorrow.

Wed 11/13
1.) Play Quadratic Formula song as students enter class.
2.) Notes/Examples on Section 6-4: How to use the Quadratic Formula and the discriminant.
3.) Complete the four scenarios with using the quadratic formula.
4.) Assignment: Lots of examples in class and two out the door.

Tue 11/12
1.) Warm-up with finding the zeros of two functions - via graphing and factoring.
2.) Assignment: 6-2 Study Guide Worksheet. Go through several examples with students before assigning the remainder of exercises.

Mon 11/11
1.) Begin Chapter 6 ideas. Introduce/refresh using Graphing Calculators (TI-84). Students use classroom set.
2.) Work on Story Problem modeling the flight path of a thrown rock. Introduce idea of "zero" of a function.
3.) Assignment: Students receive Algebra 2 — Zeroes of Quadratic Functions Worksheet. Use graphing calculator to verify graphs and complete table of values. Students compare zeroes via graphing, table, and solving by factoring.
4.) Take-Home quiz assigned: Chapter 5 - Im a big quiz now! Due by Wednesday or heavy penalty!
5.) Posted some hints to help with I’m a Big Quiz Now.

Week 10, Trimester A

2.) Teach last section in Chapter 5, section 5-10.
3.) Notes and examples on rationalizing complex and imaginary denominators. Answered students' questions.
4.) Assignment: Page 320, #16-42 even, 50, 54. #58 is extra credit.

1.) Went over solutions to assignment: Page 314 #20-38. Answered a lot of student questions.
2.) Continued section 5-9. notes and examples on complex numbers.
3.) Assignment: Page 315, #39-56. Some time was given in class to work. Finish for homework.

1.) Notes and examples on radical expressions (section 5-6). Students given Hand-out/Guided Note sheet which breaks down different scenarios for radical expressions.
2.) As a class, we worked through the first page, breaking down a radical based on the factors that are a power of its index.

1.) Lecture and Notes on section 5-5: roots. Went through how to simplify radicals of odd and even indices.
2.) Went through a slew of examples, as well as #49, 45, and 35 with class.
